Introduction

This document describes some EDF+ files designed to act as examples of how to code electrodiagnostic and evoked potential signals. The files can be downloaded from here.

I tried to cover some of the issues included in the normative document. Additional information on EDF and EDF+ can also be found in Neurotraces

Notice that EDF+ is a method to store pieces of curves (discontinuous or not) and time stamped annotations, located inside or outside the window covered by the signals. The curves can represent individual sweeps, averages or even the result of some analysis or processing, and the internal structure of the annotations is not defined. The consequence is that we have several alternatives when we are trying to decide the particular way to store a test. The curves included in this document as well as the information attached to them could have been included in many other different ways, which also would be valid EDF+ files.

I may have included many errors. I will try to improve the examples in future versions of this document. Please, make me notice the inconsistencies with the definition as well as whether you think that some alternative coding would improve the result.
